About Talbot County Extension

University of Maryland Extension - Talbot County has a mission of "Solutions In Your Community." We achieve this mission by providing citizens with consultations, factsheets, community 4-H clubs and programs for youth, workshops, courses, and newsletters.

Talbot County, located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland has a strong and diverse agriculture industry. This video highlights some statistics from the 2017 USDA Ag Census.

University of Maryland Extension is a non-formal education system sponsored by the University of Maryland at College Park, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Talbot County Government, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Extension programs are administered through the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) in College Park. County Extension offices are located in each of Maryland's 23 counties and Baltimore City. We have access to numerous University of Maryland Resources and campuses within the system.
