4-H Youth Development in Queen Anne's County

4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization, empowering young people to lead, learn, and serve. The University of Maryland Extension’s 4-H program helps youth ages 5-18 reach their fullest potential through research-backed, hands-on learning experiences that build life skills, leadership, confidence, and meaningful connections to their communities.

In Queen Anne's County, youth participate in 4-H through volunteer-led clubs, school and after-school programs, fairs, and community events. Contact our office for more information about local 4-H programs.

QAC 4-H Record Books

Recordkeeping is a valuable, 4-H-specific skill taught to members of the Queen Anne's County 4-H program. Our Members are encouraged to keep project record books and submit these books annually.

The primary purpose of completing a record book is to help a young person develop the skills needed to set goals and reflect on their 4-H experiences. Another important benefit is to prepare our Queen Anne's County 4-Hers for the process of completing both collegiate scholarship and job applications.

4-H Member & Volunteer Enrollment

Member Enrollment - New 4-H families should go to 4honline.com, create a family profile, and then add and enroll the new 4-H members.

Volunteer Enrollment - Contact the Extension Office to talk with our 4-H educator or program assistant about volunteer opportunities. After speaking with 4-H staff, adults who want to become 4-H volunteers apply online and complete a background check and a brief orientation.
