Online Agricultural Tax Workshop for Professionals, Tuesday, May 5th at 9:00-3:20pm
This 6-hour online intensive course is designed for income tax professionals and practitioners who work with farmers and agricultural businesses. The program provides a comprehensive update on recent legislative and regulatory changes to federal and state income tax laws affecting agricultural tax returns.
Participants will review core income tax principles and explore their application to common and complex farm tax situations. Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, attendees will strengthen their ability to address both individual and business agricultural tax issues with confidence and accuracy.
In addition to tax preparers and CPAs, this workshop will benefit agricultural lenders, farm management instructors, Extension educators, and other agricultural professionals seeking a deeper understanding of farm taxation and its practical implications.

The fee covers the cost of intensive instruction, presentation slides and both a PDF and a printed version of the 2025 Agricultural Tax Issues book, published by the Land Grant University Tax Education Foundation. The book will be mailed before the program.

Anne Arundel County Urban Farm Tour and Ice Cream Social, July 23, 2026, 5:00-7:30pm
You are invited to the Anne Arundel County Urban Farm Research Clinic (AAUFRC) Urban Farm Tour and Ice Cream Social at the Anne Arundel Extension Office located at 97 Dairy Lane, Gambrills, MD on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:30pm.
Ice cream will be served at 5:00pm followed by a walking farm tour that begins at 6:00pm. This year the AAUFRC will highlight hops, wine grapes, apples, peaches, blackberries, sweet corn and flour corn varieties, pumpkins, gourds, high tunnel vegetables and herbs, cut flowers, market gardening, and bee keeping.

Crops Twilight, Barbecue & Ice Cream Social
You are invited to a Fields Crops Research Twilight, Barbecue and Ice Cream Social at the Central Maryland Research and Education Center (CMREC), 2005 Largo Road, Upper Marlboro, Maryland on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 9 PM.
A barbecue dinner will be served at 4:00 pm followed by homemade ice cream prior to the evening tour. University of Maryland Extension Educators and Specialists will showcase their field crop, vegetable and fruit research plots.

Please arrive on time as the wagon tour will start promptly at 6:00 PM.
