Vegetable Insecticide Quick Reference: IRAC Groups, Classes & Active Ingredients

Veronica Yurchak, Vegetable Specialist, UMD

Numerous sources of insecticide recommendations are available to vegetable growers to facilitate effective pest management and appropriate rotation schedules. However, depending on the source of the recommendation, products may be referred to by their IRAC number, insecticide class, active ingredient, or by a specific product name. By request, I have compiled the table below, which is intended to provide a quick reference to clarify the different classifications for those insecticides typically associated with vegetable production.
