Spicy Cabbage and Carrots

Ingredients:

½ head cabbage, washed and sliced in long pieces
3 large carrots, washed and cut in long, thin pieces
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
¼ teaspoon dry mustard
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a pan, over medium heat, cook cabbage and carrots for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add mustard, cayenne pepper, sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  3. Cover and simmer until vegetables are crisp and tender.
