Baltimore County Master Gardeners

Our Mission

Baltimore County Master Gardeners support the University of Maryland Extension by educating residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities. We offer:

  • Gardening Classes 
  • Workshops, plant clinics and lectures
  • Compost demonstration sites
  • Certification of Bay-Wise Landscapes
  • Youth gardening projects
  • Technical help for community gardens
  • Information booths at fairs and festivals
  • Therapeutic horticulture programs

Demonstration Gardens

Our demonstration gardens are set up for self-guided tours and are open from sunrise to sunset.

The gardens are located on the grounds of the Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park - 1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030.

Baltimore County Master Gardeners

 

The garden is broken up into different areas, each with a different educational theme: Deer Resistant Garden, Bay-Wise Garden Grow It Eat It (GIEI) Garden Herb Garden Turf Demonstration Area, Compost Demonstration Area and Children's Garden Pollinator Garden. Most of our community garden classes are held here. Parking and admission to the garden is FREE.

Invite a Master Gardener to Speak

Baltimore County Master Gardeners are available to speak on a variety of topics to your garden club, church, business, or or community organization. 

Baltimore County Master Gardeners

Our programs cover a broad range of sustainable garden and  landscape topics, such as: Vegetable Gardening basics, advanced, and in containers, composting, herbs, invasive plants, landscaping with native plants, native bees and pollinators in your garden, along with many more. An honorarium of $100 is suggested.
