Maryland supports one of the most diverse and prolific forest ecosystems in the United States. However, the industry is shrinking. This decline hits Maryland’s rural communities hard. This Economic Adjustment Strategy (EAS) assesses the impacts on community and industry caused by negative consequences of the sector’s decline and make recommendations for both industry and community-level economic recovery.
