Fresh Basil Pesto

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

3 cups fresh Basil leaves packed, stem removed
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3-4 garlic cloves
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup pine nuts
3 Tablespoons Romano cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and run until smooth.  Or for more authentic Pesto, combine ingredients and mash in a mortar and pestle (the word that Pesto is derived from).
  2. Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups.
