This non-credit course is designed for individuals wishing to increase their understanding of forests and forest management. Specifically, the General Forestry Course targets Maryland forest landowners and other citizens with an interest in the principles and practices of forestry. There are two methods of distance learning available: the web-based or online version, and the original paper version.

Note: The General Forestry Course will be offered for the Fall 2021 Semester with registration opening on June 1.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. The course will begin on September 1 and run to December 15.

We appreciate your interest in the General Forestry Course.  We'd like to know a little bit about who visits this web site.  Please take a few moments to respond to our Visitor Survey.  We ask only your state, country, and how you describe yourself (i.e., farmer, student, retired engineer, etc.).  This information will help us to better understand who we are reaching with this web site.  Thank you for your time.
