This non-credit course is designed for individuals wishing to increase their understanding of forests and forest management. Specifically, the General Forestry Course targets Maryland forest landowners and other citizens with an interest in the principles and practices of forestry. There are two methods of distance learning available: the web-based or online version, and the original paper version.

Note: At this time, the availability of the General Forestry Course for the Fall 2021 Semester is uncertain.  We hope to make a decision in the near future as to when the course will be offered again.  Please check back at a later date for more information.

We appreciate your interest in the General Forestry Course.  We'd like to know a little bit about who visits this web site.  Please take a few moments to respond to our Visitor Survey.  We ask only your state, country, and how you describe yourself (i.e., farmer, student, retired engineer, etc.).  This information will help us to better understand who we are reaching with this web site.  Thank you for your time.
