General Forestry Course

Welcome!

Our self-directed, non-credit course is designed for individuals wishing to increase their understanding of forests and forest management. Specifically, the General Forestry Course targets Maryland forest landowners and other citizens with an interest in the principles and practices of forestry. The course is offered online through the university's Electronic Learning Management System (ELMS).

Registration is now open for the General Forestry Course Fall 2024 session! The session runs August 26 - December 9. To register via Eventbrite, go to: go.umd.edu/gfc24

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
