New 4-H Members
Thank you for your interest in the Kent County 4-H Program! We are excited to share all of the opportunities that the 4-H Program offers. Here are a few steps in helping you become an official 4-H member:
- Have you attended your first Kent County 4-H Club Meeting, or have you selected a club you would like to join? This would be the monthly meeting you would attend. This is the first step in joining the 4-H Program and making the connections with the 4-H Club Leaders, who are a great resource in helping you join 4-H.
- After you have attended your first club meeting or selected your club, the next step is registering through the Maryland 4-H Online Enrollment system. When registering through this site, you will need to create a family account. You will then be directed to set up each 4-H/Clover Member and any UME Volunteers under the family name. Make sure you write down your login information, as this is what you will use each year to enroll in the Kent County 4-H Program.
- After you set up your account and register a family member who will be a part of the 4-H Program, you will be directed to pay an annual participation fee of $10 per 4-H member. This must be paid online to complete your enrollment.
- Make sure you receive a confirmation email that you are now enrolled in the Kent County 4-H Program. You can log in at any time to check your status, as it will show everyone as SUBMITTED/AWAITING REVIEW and when they have been approved to join the 4-H Program you will then see APPROVED.
- Once you become an active member in the Program, you will start receiving the 4-H Updates and the 4-H newsletter. You will receive this either through email or by mail, depending on what you selected when setting up your account.
- New 4-H members can enroll any time of year. However, you must enroll by June 1st of the current year to be eligible to participate in the Kent County Fair as a 4-H'er.

Returning 4-H Members
Re-Enroll in 4-H
Kent County 4-H re-enrollment must be completed by March 1 of the current year to remain eligible as a 4-H member. If you are a 4-H Member participating in any State Events, you MUST be enrolled in 4-H Online to be eligible to participate in your contest.
To enroll in the Maryland 4-H Online program, go to https://v2.4honline.com.
Each family login information remains the same each year, so please make sure you use your email address you set up your account with to login.
If you have forgotten your password, there is an option on the login page has an option to reset it for you.
As you enroll for the current year, make sure you enroll every 4-H Member, Clover, and UME Volunteer in your family.
If the 4-H Member is in more than one club, make sure to check off which club is their primary club.
Project Areas – You only have one chance to add/delete projects in your 4-H Member's enrollment. Double-check that you have selected everything that they may be involved in during the year. If you need project changes after approval, send an email to our office by June 1.
When you are ready to check out of 4-H Online, you will need to pay the $10 4-H Enrollment Fee online. You will automatically be taken to the next screen to make payment.
You will receive a confirmation email once the enrollment has been accepted by the Kent County Extension Office accepts your enrollment. You can log in to your account; the status for each member/volunteer will change from SUBMITTED/AWAITING REVIEW to APPROVED.
Please note: The state must first approve volunteer screenings before the county can approve any UME 4-H volunteers.
Volunteer with Kent County 4-H
4-H Volunteers are a key component of the 4-H program, which focuses on citizenship, leadership, and life skills development using a "learn-by-doing" educational model. With each volunteer comes knowledge, experience, and skills taught to 4-H youth and shared with the 4-H program.
No matter your background or expertise, you can join the 4-H community. As a parent, a project leader, or in any other leadership capacity, you can offer your unique talents and perspectives. You decide the level of involvement that fits your skills and schedule. Become a 4-H Volunteer today and help create life-changing experiences for youth in your community.
If you are interested in volunteering, please register in 4-H Online as a "NEW Volunteer Applicant." After completing the UME background and screening process, you will receive additional information regarding the volunteer training.
Ways to Volunteer
Volunteers play a vital role in the ongoing growth and development of those in the 4‑H Youth Development program. No matter how much time you have, volunteering with 4-H makes a difference by helping youth explore and discover the skills they need to lead for a lifetime. There are lots of ways to get involved!

Volunteer Training
Volunteers and teen leaders are encouraged to enhance their skills by registering for the 4-H Volunteer Development Series. You can choose which topics you would like to attend. These are opportunities to help UME Volunteers and teens build their youth development skills. Classes will take place virtually unless otherwise noted—classes to be announced.
