St. Mary's County which is part of a statewide, non-formal education system within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the University of Maryland, College Park. This partnership also includes support from USDA as well as the county government. The St. Mary's County UME faculty and staff provide a broad range of outreach through workshops, seminars, classes, clinics, newsletters, consultations, and media efforts.
We'd like to introduce you to a remarkable office located in the heart of St. Mary's County, where you can obtain useful, practical, up-to-date information on many subjects. It's called the University of Maryland Extension, St. Mary's County Office, and it acts as a county-wide educational system. It's sponsored jointly by the University of Maryland, St. Mary's County Government, and the U. S. Department of Agriculture; and has access to many of the University of Maryland's resources.
Our office services families with home horticulture and a Master Gardener volunteer program, diet, nutrition, parenting skills, consumer education, and food safety education. We serve our youth with 4-H clubs, school enrichment, healthy lifestyles, camping, leadership development, and our farmers, landscapers, and nursery enterprises facts about raising crops and livestock, protecting the environment, animal and crop diagnostics, marketing farm products, farm and business management, pest management, and alternative agriculture.

Extension Advisory Committee (EAC)
The Extension Advisory Committee is a diverse group of professionals, community leaders, and stakeholders dedicated to informing program development, assisting with outreach efforts, and identifying community needs by helping the UME faculty with overall advisory services to support program determination and issues. These members represent various partnerships and institutions, bringing their expertise, resources, and perspectives to support UME's mission. Their contributions ensure that programs and strategies are inclusive, relevant, and impactful. Our current St. Mary's County EAC comprises individuals from these organizations, partnerships, and backgrounds:
