Checking Bulletin Live! Two

Now that the growing season has started, don't forget to check Bulletin Live! Two (BLT) for any Pesticide Use Limitations Areas around your farms and fields, per US EPA (https://www.epa.gov/endangered-species/bulletins-live-two-view-bulletins)

To use BLT to generate a printable bulletin, please follow these steps:

  1. On the website, you can navigate to your intended pesticide application area using the "Location Search" tool or panning and zooming on the map. Then select your “Application Month’ from the Application Date dropdown in the blue box (figure 1).
  2. If you know the specific pesticide product(s) you plan to use, you can enter the EPA product registration number(s). Once you have entered your selection, the Pesticide Use Limitation Areas associated with the product(s) will be displayed on the map. To remove any product(s) you selected, click on the “X” button on the right side of the product box(es).
  3. If there are no limitations (pink area) in the map area for the selected application date and product, a "Printable Bulletin" button will appear in the top right corner of the map pane. Click this button to generate a printable bulletin in PDF format, which you can print or save as a PDF to your computer.
  4. If a Pesticide Use Limitation Area ( in pink) overlaps your intended application area, click on the pink overlay area on the map to select it and activate the Limitations pane with the associated limitations. A yellow border surrounding the PULA indicates that it has been selected. Click on the "Printable Bulletin" button on the results pane to generate a printable bulletin in PDF format, which you can print or save.
  5. As of May 2025, 65 products are listed on BLT for Mayland and may require a buffer zone or application changes if applied in a pesticide use limitation area. These have the following Active Ingredients: Carbaryl, Chlorpyrifos, Malathion, and Diazinon. Please contact your local extension office if you have any questions or need help looking up your fields.
