Leaf tips and edges can turn tan or brown. This is usually due to sudden water loss by the leaves. This may be aggravated by high soil fertility, sunny weather, nutrient deficiencies, and insect/mite damage.  Maintain adequate fertility levels and water regularly and deeply.
