The Fair takes place the second week in September at the County Fairgrounds on Generals Highway, Crownsville, MD. This has been a MG project for about 18 years. While it is not an on-going event, it is a very fun experience and a chance to pick up some volunteer hours at the end of the summer.
Volunteers assist with preparation of the booth, accepting entries from the public, assisting the judges, tallying results, meeting with the public to answer questions, release of entries to exhibitors and clean up.
There is a training session approximately two weeks prior to the event to familiarize volunteers with procedures. All MG's, including interns are welcome to sign up.
