Event: PSU Workshop - Juice and Wine Laboratory Analysis

Description: Discover the fundamentals of juice and wine laboratory analysis at this immersive workshop. Through a blend of lectures and extensive hands-on practice, participants will learn essential techniques for evaluating juice and wine quality. Gain confidence in conducting basic and intermediate analyses, from measuring acidity and sugars to assessing stability and fermentation progress. During this two-day workshop, participants will receive breakfast and lunch each day while engaging in full-day laboratory and lecture sessions led by Penn State Extension experts. Registration includes a copy of the recently published Penn State Extension product Juice and Wine Laboratory Analysis.

Event:Regenerative Viticulture Intensive

Location: At The Vineyards at Dodon in Davidsonville
Description: The Vineyards at Dodon is pleased to partner with Kelly Mulville and the Paicines Ranch Learning Center to host an intensive one-and-a-half-day workshop on regenerative viticulture. During this field and classroom-based opportunity, you will learn the tools of ecological viticulture, the science that supports them, how they can be applied in diverse settings, and their benefits for the environment and the wine. The program is designed for winegrape growers, wine producers, wine merchants, vineyard managers, agroforesters, students, educators, and anyone passionate about healthy ecosystems should attend.

  • Ecosystem processes and how they relate to wine growing
  • Holistic decision-making that aligns ecological values with vineyard practices
  • Applying the tools and practices of ecological farming to your vineyard
  • The crucial role of animals in healthy ecosystems

  • Managing insect pests with biodiversity
  • Beyond the vineyard: The value of landscape biodiversity
