Maryland Sea Grant Extension Watershed Restoration Specialists offer technical advice and support to individuals and communities working to preserve and restore the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland’s coastal waters. They assist by:
- teaching homeowners how to improve water quality in their own backyard with practices like rain barrels, rain gardens, and tree planting,
- offering Technical Assistance Programs to help communities address Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) and Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) regulations and requirements,
- connecting watershed science to the policymakers and community leaders making water quality decisions.
