New Updates to the Nutrient Management Program
Maryland law requires nutrient management plans to be made for agricultural operations with a minimum gross income of $2500 and/or 8 animal units (1 animal unit = 1,000 lbs). By using soil test results, yield goals, and estimates of residual nitrogen, these plans provide field-specific recommendations for nutrient applications to maximize farm profitability and minimize the environmental impact on the Chesapeake Bay.
Abigail Selnick develops nutrient management plans for agricultural producers located in Montgomery County, MD. To request a Nutrient Management Plan please download, fill out this form, and send it to Abigail Selnick aselnick@umd.edu.
