Rain Barrels and Cisterns

Rain barrels and cisterns are catchment systems that are placed at the end of downspouts to collect rainwater and store it for later uses. This rain water is often generally for watering lawns and gardens, washing cars, and general maintenance. However, the most important aspect of rain water harvesting systems is emptying the container between each rain event.
