School Enrichment

The Washington County 4-H Youth Development Program provides high quality youth programming in the form of school enrichment, outreach opportunity, camping and traditional club membership.

 4-H Works!

Young people in 4-H excel beyond their peers.  According to a longitudinal study conducted by Dr. Richard Lerner at the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development at Tufts University, when compared to their peers, young people involved in 4-H:

  • Report higher levels of academic competence and an elevated level of engagement at school
  • Are more likely to plan to go to college
  • Are two times more likely to participate in STEM learning programs during out-of-school time
