Topic: "Strategies for Creating a BeeCentric Backyard, Estate, Field or Roadside: How to think BeeCentric about everything!"
Description: "We have surrounded ourselves with unnatural landscapes - lawns, houses, roads, ornamental plants, shade trees, specimen plants, row crops, gardens. Reflect, for a moment, that the natural world order prior to your house being plunked down was quite different. Go back a several hundred years and it was VERY different. Current "traditional" choices of how we curate our personal ecosystem may attract some bees, but do they SUPPORT the natural world and give back some of what we have taken away? We can repatriate some of those plants and systems and invite some of the creatures that have been lost back in. In this talk we emphasize the mindset, the relationships, the support we can offer, with some tips and strategies to get you going and allow you to give back to Nature without flipping the neighborhood out. Native Bees and Native Plants will provide our examples, of course."
Time: May 20, 2020 06:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
