Master Gardener Basic Training- Winter 2020

Do you enjoy gardening and want to share your knowledge by educating & volunteering in the community? Take this course to become a Maryland Master Gardener in Charles County! The sessions are taught by University of Maryland Extension specialists, educators and other horticulture professionals.

Course participants must then complete 40 hours of volunteer service with the program to become Master Gardeners. The course covers a range of topics related to plants, gardening and the environment. See the 2020 class flyer. To get an idea of the topics covered, see the 2018 class schedule.

2020 Master Gardener Volunteer Basic Training course:

What: Wednesdays, January 29 - May 6, 2020, 5:00-8:30 pm

Where? UME St. Mary's County, Agricultural Services Center, 26737 Radio Station Way, Suite C, Leonardtown, MD 20650 

Cost? $165/person - incl. Master Gardener Handbook & course materials

Who should apply? Any adult interested in gardening & volunteering

How to apply? Contact missyr@umd.edu or stop by the UME St. Mary's County office for a copy of the application packet or call 301-475-4484. All applicants will be contacted for a brief follow-up phone interview after the application has been completed.
