Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS)/Food Supplement Nutrition Education (FSNE)

Food Supplement Nutrition Education

Food Supplement Nutrition Education (FSNE) is a collaborative community nutrition program, offering nutrition education to assist low-income individuals and families (those who qualify for SNAP/food stamps) in making healthy food choices, developing food preparation skills, handling food safely, improving shopping skills, and increasing physical activity. FSNE also provides nutrition education training to volunteers and professionals who provide services to low-income families, thus expanding the reach of the program.

FSNE offers programs for youth and adults, and many materials are available in both English and Spanish.

FSNE’s Five Initiative Areas

FSNE works with organizations in these five areas, striving to provide lasting nutrition and physical activity messages that positively affect the participants, their families, and the wider community.
