Our self-directed, non-credit course is designed for individuals wishing to increase their understanding of forests and forest management. Specifically, the General Forestry Course targets Maryland forest landowners and other citizens with an interest in the principles and practices of forestry. The course is offered online through the university's Electronic Learning Management System (ELMS).

The General Forestry Course Fall 2023 session is now closed to registration. The next session will be in Fall 2024. Please check back for updated information, including dates and registration information.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

We appreciate your interest in the General Forestry Course. We'd like to know a little bit about who visits this web site. Please take a few moments to respond to our Visitor Survey. We ask only your state, country, and how you describe yourself (i.e., farmer, student, retired engineer, etc.). This information will help us to better understand who we are reaching with this web site. Thank you for your time.
