Women in Agriculture

The Mid-Atlantic Women in Agriculture programs have gained unforeseen momentum in the last five years through Annie's Project, Annie's Project II: Managing for Today and Tomorrow, a multi-state Women in Agriculture Conference, local farm tours and social media. The program delivers risk and farm management training to women in Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey through a variety of learning environments and incorporates education in the risk areas of: human, legal, marketing, financial.

Women in Agriculture programs increase content knowledge, encourage risk management implementation in hopes of increasing farm profitability. Results include writing an estate and business plan, compiling farm financial statements, checking credit reports, marketing products, reviewing lease agreements and understanding regulatory information. Outreach programs in 2020 will reach over 400 women and build on the current network as well as reach out to others that have not yet participated.
