Land use interpretations are based on soil morphology – the physical characteristics and properties of the soil that can be seen or felt. This field-based training will be an opportunity for participants to view and describe Coastal Plain soils of the Delmarva. We will discuss how soil morphology is interpreted and used in evaluations of suitability for various land uses, including agriculture, nutrient management, stormwater, wastewater disposal, and wetlands. Registration includes lunch. 3 CEUs will be available for Maryland Nutrient Management Certification.
