Thank you Close Encounters Volunteers!

Close Encounters with Agriculture

We would like to take a moment to thank our volunteers for their teaching efforts with regard to Close Encounters with Agriculture. They are the key to the program as they are on the front line bringing it home to the kids.

With their help, almost 3,300 4th grade students, parents and teachers from 38 elementary schools in Montgomery County were able to participate! Since we began in 1993, almost 70,000 have experienced the program. We have had grown up 20 somethings tell us they remembered the Close Encounters field trip. We think we have made a lasting impression on many teachers and parents that have come through this with their students. In a County like Montgomery, we need to remind the public about the importance of agriculture.

Without the dedication and support of individuals such as our volunteers, we could not possibly provide such a worthwhile program to our Montgomery County school students.

Thank you!
