Military Student Internship

Share this information with our college aged 4-H youth - this could be Their Experience of a Lifetime.  The Military Extension Internship Programs is open to college students who have completed at least five semesters of college coursework by the start of their internship and have at least a 2.75 GPA.  College students who have an educational background in child or youth development, education, family sciences, recreation, or a related field.  The student  needs to be able to pass a National Agency background (security) check, and  exhibit maturity, good judgment, and enjoy working with children, youth, and their families

      You can travel, put your education to work and make a difference in the lives of military families and their children through the Military Extension Internship Program. Designed for college students and recent college graduates, this program provides a unique opportunity to gain practical work experience in child development plus school-age and youth programs. As an intern, you will live and work on military installations around the globe for 10-15 weeks. Internship locations in the past include Washington D.C., Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, and Germany. The range of experience is broad, including working directly with children and youth, implementing programs that address their needs, and learning to manage child and youth centers.  A brochure is attached.  Please spread the work to our Maryland 4-H Collegiate Students.  Applications from undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates (within 6-12 months of graduation). are encouraged.  Applications will be accepted through September 30th.
