The Maryland 4-H Foundation in conjunction with the Maryland State Fair has designed The Food Drive House that will be open and accepting non-perishable food items in the 4-H/Home Arts Building during the Friday, August 23 – Monday, September 2 Maryland State Fair.

As a special incentive to 4-H members to participate, the Maryland 4-H Foundation is offering $500, $250 and $100 county/city donations to the most food collected.

Proceeds collected from fairgoers in The Food Drive House will be donated to local food pantries and will be counted toward the International Association of Fairs & Expositions (IAFE) goal to raise 20,000,000 pounds of Food to Feed the Hungry.  To date 188,759 pounds of food have been collected from various fairs’ unique food drives.
