Portia Blank, a club leader with the Mountain View 4-H Club in Mt. Savage, was recently recognized with the Maryland 4-H Alumni award at the annual Maryland 4-H Gala at Martin’s West in Baltimore.  In addition to being a 4-H alumni herself, Blank has served as a 4-H adult volunteer for 27 years.  Among her accomplishments as club leader, she has successfully forged a partnership with Evergreen Heritage Center allowing club members to create a garden space and grow produce to harvest and sell at their own 4-H Farm Stand. The goal of this project is to provide students with a real-life “farm-to-table” experience.
