2014 Maryland State 4-H Fashion Revue

Congratulations to the 4-H members from across the state who traveled to the Maryland State Fair to participate in the 2014 State 4-H Fashion Revue.

Eight 13 year olds experienced the Fashion Show observing the judging of the seniors while making a Button Drawing! Zara V. Biamonte, Jordan Cencula, Raisa Niederhelman from Montgomery County, Shaine Craft – Prince George’s County, Samantha Fielder and Sarah Stauffer from Harford County, Kiersten Lancaster – Queen Anne’s County and Lynne Thomas – who was interviewed by Fox45 TV from Baltimore County.

Ready to Wear is the category where the 4-Her purchases a garment and illustrates consumer skills in putting together an outfit. Hannah Schauber – Queen Anne County was the Sports Wear Champion. In Formal Wear – Reserve Champion - Janai Heise from Washington County and Champion Becky Jones from Calvert County.

The following 4-Hers Constructed their garments. Sportswear Champion was Jordan Mister – the new Miss Maryland Agriculture from Calvert County. Costumes were created by Champion – Skyla Heise from Washington County and Reserve Champion Kristen Clark, Howard County.

Our Formal Wear Champion was Sarah Ort from Harford County and Reserve Champion Faith Wobbeking, Howard County. Gabrielle Parsley from Caroline County was the Champion Business Professional. Emily Frank from Howard County had the Champion for Outer Wear. Laura Fielder, Harford County and Courtney Rein, Howard County were in the Dresses Category with Dana Biamonte, Montgomery County as Reserve Champion and Kendall Gant – Champion from Talbot County. Jennifer Quinn, Kent County was our Separates Champion and Sydney Rossman from Howard County was our Reserve Champion. Anna Sissom, Queen Anne’s County was our Champion the Recycled Design category.


Narrators were talented 4-H Members – Sarah Ort, Harford County, Lynn Thomas, Baltimore County, Sierra Rossman and Courtney Rein – Howard County and Raisa Niederhelman, Montgomery County.

Special Thanks to our State Committee: Lacie Ashby-Chair who planned the event this year with Chris Rein and Amanda Clougherty.

Our Judges were Tee Acetie, Myrtha Allen, Jennie Chamelin, Lisa Clemmer, Karen Hevner, Angie Koontz, Barbara Mullen, Barbara Turell, Rhonda Uzelac and Fran Wiles.

Alisha Targonski and our 4-H Teens who traveled this year to Africa presented the Intermission Message. Anna Sissom shared her experience and the team collected money to purchase a sewing machine for the 4-Hers in Africa.

Rutland Beard Florist provided Floral Bouquets to our Overall Champion – Becky Jones in Ready to Wear and Constructed Overall Champion – Kendall Gant, Talbot County.

Three special awards were presented to the Best Accessorized Outfit – Jordan Mister/ Best Model – Skyla Heise and Best Selection – Anna Sissom. Thanks Carroll County 4-H for providing the sashes for these awards.
