The Montgomery County Master Gardener Demonstration Garden is located at the Agricultural History Farm Park, 18410 Muncaster Rd., Derwood, MD 20855. There are 13 themed gardens and work areas within the approximately quarter acre site. The Garden is open to the public dawn to dusk throughout the year for self-guided tours. No animals inside the Garden please!
Guided tours of the Demonstration Garden with a Master Gardener are available during our growing season, April to the end of October. Schools or other groups interested in arranging a guided tour with a Master Gardener should call 301-590-2842 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., April through October. (Please note that this phone number is not checked daily but it is regularly checked.) The Demonstration Garden is also open with Master Gardeners present during the Grow It Eat It event in May and the Harvest Festival in October.
As Master Gardeners, we love to share information about the types of vegetables, small fruits, and annual and perennials flowers and shrubs that can be grown successfully in Montgomery County. We work in the Garden every Tuesday 8 AM-12 PM, April through October. Everyone is welcome to visit during our work days and ask gardening questions of the Master Gardeners.
