Volunteer Management System

For the calendar year 2020, all Master Gardeners and Interns are prohibited from performing any face to face volunteer service hours OR any hours in any demonstration garden between the dates of May 1, 2020 and August 22, 2020.

In addition, for the calendar year 2020, all Master Gardeners must submit at least 10 hours of Continuing Education in VMS.  Those MGs and Interns who have not submitted any legitimate Volunteer Service hours for 2020 by the end of the calendar year must do the following:

Enter 0.25 hours of volunteer service in VMS.  Enter Administrative as the Activity Code.  Enter Other as Site Code.  Enter "Required by Management" as the Description.  Remember if you have legitimate volunteer service hours for 2020, you do not have to submit this 0.25 administrative entry.  THOSE WHO DO NOT COMPLY WILL BE REMOVED FROM VMS.

The following information pertains to VMS in general.  All Master Gardeners must submit their volunteer and continuing education hours using the Volunteer Management System (VMS). This method allows you to enter your time directly into our database (VMS).  Use this link to logon to the system if you know your username.  You can change your password by using the Forgot Password button.  This works if you know your username.

Information and resources for the Volunteer Management System (VMS) are provided by the State.  If you are unable to logon to the Volunteer Management System, please contact your County administrator or Linda Waters.

Montgomery County MG has a set of policy guidelines for entering data into the Volunteer Management System.  These policy guidelines contain information that is not contained in the online Help tutorials built into VMS.  These policy guidelines also provide specific information about entering your hours, including the entry of Demographic Contact data.  Please review these policy guidelines here.

Montgomery County MG requires a unique Site Code for each Master Gardener volunteer activity.  To view a chart depicting Montgomery County Master Gardener Volunteer Activities, VMS Activity Codes, and VMS Site Codes, click here.

There are training tutorials built into the system.  Click on the Get Help menu to access these training videos.

If you have specific issues or questions regarding the Volunteer Management System,  contact your County administrator or Linda Waters with your question.
