Starting a Farm Enterprise in Maryland: Checklist

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) 2007 Census, direct to consumer marketing amounted to $1.2 billion in current dollar sales, compared with $551 million in 1997. Starting a farm or adding a new farm enterprise can be an enjoyable and attractive business decision. When starting a new farm enterprise many questions need to be answered in the areas of
production, regulatory, business and marketing topics.
