Vegetable Planting Charts

Not all vegetables like to be planted at the same time. Some vegetables prefer cool weather, others need to be planted well after the danger of frost has passed.

Perhaps you want to spread out your harvest which would mean you would not want to plant all your vegetables at once. The charts below will provide you with some guidelines.

The charts are based on the average last (Spring) and first (Fall) frost dates for Kent County, Maryland. Look up the vegetable you would like to plant: the green area is the optimal time frame in which you can plant that particular crop.

Do keep in mind, that in particularly cold Springs, you may want to wait an additional week or so before you start planting.
