 Smart Cents Financial Literacy Program 

Times are tough, but let’s get financially fit together! We are offering a FREE 9-week program on Smart Cents every Tuesday from 3-4 p.m., beginning May 5th for 4-H members (ages 10-14) and guests in the Maryland Central Cluster!

In addition, the series of weekly sessions for 9 weeks will offer some personal finance programing for the adults in the family as well. Smart Cents is a program to increase the ability of youth to make informed decisions about saving and spending money while strengthening their use of social and emotional skills necessary for success as they grow into responsible adults.

The Youth Track Smart Cents is from 3-4 p.m. on the following dates:

1- May 5th Financial Decision-Making (short parent information session at 4p.m and 7 p.m. highly recommended)

2- May 12th Spending and Saving

3- May 19th Spending and Saving- Continues

4- May 26th Credit and Debt

5- June 2nd Credit and Debt/Employment and Income

6- June 9th Employment and Income

7- June 16th Investing

8- June 23rd Investing and Risk Management

9- June 30th Risk Management and Wrap-up (2hr session)

The Adult Track Personal Finance is from 5-6 p.m. on the following dates:

1- May 12th Money Habits and Goal Setting

2- May 19th Making a Spending Plan in Tough Times

3- May 26th Debt getting in Your Way? Get a Handle on It!

4- June 2nd Building your savings? Start Small

5- June 9th Understanding Credit Reports and Scores

6- June 16th Paying for College

7- June 23rd Understanding Medicare
