Horse Bowl

Winter is fast approaching and we are gearing up for a fantastic Horse Bowl season. What is Horse Bowl? Horse Bowl is like the TV show “That’s Academic” where contestants are asked questions related to horses and they buzz in to compete using fun buzzers. We meet once a week from December until March studying and learning all things horsey. In March, teams go to the University of Maryland to compete against all of the counties. It is so very exciting and you get a chance to win trophies and ribbons and make friends from all around the state!

Marcie Barnard coaches the Intermediate Team. Cyndi Lemmon coaches the Junior Team. And this year we are excited to announce that Dr. Alexandra Barnard will coach the Senior Team. Darryl Ann Buschling will be serving as a Horse Bowl Subject Matter Expert and will be supporting all three teams.

All three coaches will be holding practices in their homes.  Juniors and intermediates will meet every Saturday starting on Saturday December 7th. Start times have been staggered in case a family has children in multiple sessions. Seniors will meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. starting on December 3rd.

Juniors will meet from 10:00 am to 11:15 am each Saturday.

Intermediates will meet from 10:15 am to 11:30 am each Saturday.

Seniors will meet starting at 7:00 p.m. each Tuesday evening.

Please notify each coach as soon as possible if your 4-Her will be participating in Horse Bowl so that we can get organized for a wonderful Horse Bowl season.
