Cooking Matters® at the Store: FSNE Partners withCooking Matters Share Our Strength to Help Families Make Healthy and Affordable Choices at the Supermarket

Teaching parents and caregivers to stretch their food dollar and provide their families good nutrition is a critical part of ending childhood hunger in America.  Cooking Matters® at the Store program participants learn to shop smarter and make healthier food choices.

SNAP-Ed educators partner with Share Our Strength and provide the hour-long guided group grocery store tour.  Participants practice key food shopping skills like buying fruits and vegetables on a budget, comparing unit prices, reading food labels, and identifying whole grains. 

Bag of groceriesShare Our Strength provides handouts, recipes, and incentives for tour participants. Materials are available in both English and Spanish.
