Growing Healthy Habits

Youth are Growing Healthy Eating Habits with Maryland Extension Program

University of Maryland Extension’s Growing Healthy Habits is a gardening and nutrition education curriculum used in classrooms, after-school clubs, and summer programs for youth.  The Growing Healthy Habits program uses growing food to teach about the link between nutrition and gardening.

The curriculum introduces children to fruits and vegetables through multiple tasting experiences as they grow, harvest, and prepare foods that they have grown.  The curriculum can be implemented in any type/size garden, including a container garden but can also be used without the gardening activities. Growing Healthy Habits
