WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: University of Maryland Nutrient Management Specialists will provide instruction and guide participants through using the Phosphorus Management Tool (PMT). Participants will complete a PMT from start to finish

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? The intended audience for this course is Maryland Certified Nutrient Management Consultants who develop PMTs for their clients. Certified Operators who run the PMT may also attend. Space is limited to 24 individuals (2 per training computer)

REGISTRATION: Due by 2/19/2020; Follow directions in the attached file below (Depending on registration more dates may be added)

CEUs: Consultants and Certified Operators will earn six CEU’s for completion of the workshop.


  • Demo: PMT and rotation builder
  • Use Web Soil Survey to find information for PMT
  • Use Google Earth to draw fields and save as .kml files
  • Use GIS tools to measure distance to surface water and estimate slope
  • Demo: How to enter all information into NuMan Pro 5.0 software
  • Complete a PMT in NuMan Pro 5.0 and understand how to interpret the score
  • Create a “rotation builder” scenario
  • Presentation and discussion about difficult PMT scenarios
