In this workshop series, we’ll explore what it takes to be successful on a small-scale farm. Each session covers topics that apply to a variety of agricultural operations, including fruit and vegetable production. 

The topics featured in this workshop series have proven to be essential components for ensuring farm profitability. This program is a collaborative effort between University of Maryland Extension and Future Harvest CASA’s new Chesapeake Foodshed Field School and Beginner Farmer Training Program (BFTP). Additional partners include Civic Works’ Real Food Farm, and several agricultural professionals and successful farmers in the region, including graduates of the BFTP. 

What: a 10-part training for beginning farmers
When: Wednesdays, 6:30 – 9:00 pm, starting January 24, 2018
Where: the Baltimore County Ag Center, 1114 Shawan Rd, Cockeysville, MD 21030
Cost: $10 per session or $60 for the whole series. Those who register for the entire course will have access to a course website with supplemental lessons. Registration for the entire series is open now. Registration for single sessions will be available soon.
