About this Event

UMD Extension and Farm Alliance of Baltimore invite you to the 3rd Annual Urban Farmer Winter Meeting. Come socialize and network with other urban farmers and growers while you learn the latest on urban farming production, business management, policy, and community development.


This year's agenda will include

  • A delicious lunch sponsored by MidAtlantic Farm Credit
  • How to apply for grants, including from the USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service and from Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education.
  • A class on growing and saving seeds of African diaspora heritage crops
  • How to collect soil samples and understand which test to use
  • And more!

The first 60 participants to arrive at the meeting will receive a free print copy of the new guidebook for urban farmers From Surviving to Thriving: Strategies for Urban Farm Success.
