Designing your Vegetable Garden Workshop

Come visit the Montgomery County Agricultural History Farm Park and learn to design this year's vegetable garden at the University of Maryland Grow It Eat It Spring Event!

This will be a hands-on workshop. Please bring the dimensions of your garden space/s and a list of the vegetables you would like to grow.

  • Learn when to plant and proper spacing for different crops
  • Learn how to optimize what you have by incorporating containers and other DIY garden structures
  • Learn which crops can take a less sunny location
  • Learn how to incorporate plants that will attract bees and other beneficial insects
  • Learn how to protect your vegetable garden from predators
  • How to setup your garden to maximize productivity and minimize work
