All youth ages 5 – 18 as of January 1, 2019 are invited to attend this fun-filled day of workshops! Non-4-H members are also welcome.

Youth will be granted their choices on a first come, first serve basis.

You will have a choice of 3 different workshops.

101 Creative Gourd Design
Youth will learn how gourds are grown and the many varieties out there. Plus decorate their own gourd too! You can enjoy your gourd then enter it in the Baltimore County Fair, Hereford Jr. Farm Fair and the MD State Fair.

102 Say Cheese
Cheese is a great source of calcium, protein and seven other essential nutrients! Each person in this class will make their very own appetizer, main dish and dessert to eat, using various cheeses.

103 Paint Pouring
Creating abstract art and optical illusions on canvases through a paint pouring technique.

104 Team Building Games
Learning fun games and activities while meeting new people

105 Ice Cream for the Space Station
Plan to make ice cream from a variety of dairy products. The long range plan is to put an ice cream machine on the Space Station. We want to generate interest in the project.

106 Learn to Sew - Fleece Hats
Discover how to sew your own fleece hat! Learn about the essential equipment needed in your sewing basket and gain basic sewing skills with hands-on sewing machine experience. Take home a polar fleece hat that you made! For beginner and novice sewers. Younger participants must have an adult helper.

107 Make Your Own Faerie Garden  
Build your own Faerie Garden with scavenged materials like; sticks, walnuts twigs, rocks, wire, twine and more! You are only limited by your imagination. Don’t forget you can enter your garden in your County, State and Hereford fairs!

108 Rifle and Shotgun Safety
Learn about the basic safety skills needed for using a rifle or a shotgun in this engaging workshop with certified instructors.

109 Landscape Photography: Citizen Scientist   
Youth will learn the basics or taking a quality landscape photograph and have it printed and mounted to show at fairs. Also, the student will learn about detecting evidence of climate change and documenting it.
