Cecil County 4-H Rabbit Project Requirements

4-H Member & Project Enrollment

  • Cecil County & Maryland State Fair’s 4-H Member Project Enrollment Deadline is May 1st of the current year entered in 4-H Online
  • 4-H members are expected to regularly attend club meetings


Registration papers must be in the individual 4-Hers name only! 

  • Cecil County Fair and Maryland State Fair ownership deadline June 1st of current year (Poultry/Rabbit/Cavy registration paper received in Extension Office)
  • Breeding rabbits must be owned and can’t be leased


  • All 4-H market meat rabbit intent forms are due by Friday, May 15, 2020 by 8 PM. 
  • Market rabbits must be owned
  • All market rabbits must be born after May 17th of the current year/and under 70 days old (grouped as a trio)

Completed Maryland 4-H Animal Husbandry & Quality Assurance Program by July 1st of current year if 1st year in project or if 4-H age 8, 11 or 14 as of 1/1 of current year

  • Juniors-Junior Program
  • Intermediates & Seniors-Part 1 and specific project species (Please make sure that you are logged in)

4-H Show Entry Deadlines:

  • Eastern Shore Spring Show Deadline-April 15th of current year
  • Cecil County Breeders’ Fair Deadline-May 1st of current year
  • Cecil County Fair Entry Deadline-July 1st of current year (online only)
  • Cecil County Fair 4-H Animal Exhibition Orientation and Livestock Sale Meeting, June 3rd or June 8th, 2020.  Youth and a parent/guardian must attend if animal project stays entire week of fair.
  • Cecil County Fair Animal Exhibit Setup, July 21, 2020
  • Maryland State Fair Entry Deadline-July 31st of current year (online only)
