Food Stamp Nutrition Education

The Food Supplement Nutrition Education Program (FSNE) is a vital component of Family and Consumer Sciences, University of Maryland Extension. FSNE’s mission is to improve the overall health of food supplement eligible citizens in Maryland by reducing diet- and physical activity-related risks of chronic disease and increase available food resources. The FSNE educator provides programming to food supplement eligible citizens (both youth and adult) and promotes participation in the Food Stamp Program and other local food assistance programs, as well as mutually beneficial partnerships with local agencies to develop and implement FSNE programs.
