Fall Back is for the Clock; Not Your Marketing Strategies

When the calendar turns to September, everything “pumpkin” begins arriving in the stores and folks are busy cheering on their favorite football team. While it seems like the markets are in a sprint to the end of the year, Fall is actually a good to re-energize your marketing strategies.

Social Media Rules

We use to think that having a website and maybe using one of the more popular social media sites, covered your marketing outreach. Those days are behind us as social media marketing enables you to reach current and potential customers where they already interact online on a regular basis-Email, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Facebook alone has over two billion active monthly users. Don’t postpone your opportunity to reach more customers till the season slows down.

Marketing minute: Examine your social media strategy from the last year; which areas did you ignore or fall short in? Make it an objective to give them more attention in 2018.

The Power of Video

If you have a smartphone, you have a video camera. Researchers have found that viewers retain 95% of a message when they see it in a video, compared to only 10% when reading it as text? That’s a serious difference in the retention rate. With new options like social “stories” and live mobile streaming, the video should be in your visual go-to-marketing- toolkit.

Marketing minute: Examine brands and businesses you consider successful or your direct competition for their marketing strategy. Note the ways in which they use video content and consider your video possibilities.
