Seed Swap Project

The Seed Swap project is open to the public as well as Master Gardeners.

Saturday, January 26, 2019, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM
Odenton Regional Library, 1325 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD

Coinciding with "National Seed Swap Day" each year - the last Saturday in January - the Master Gardeners host Seed Swap Saturday. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10 am -1 pm at the Odenton Regional Library.  The event is free and open to the public. Plan to stay for the whole time, but you are welcome to come for any part of it.

But it's so much more than just a seed swap!

Throughout the day, we exchange planting tips, garden expertise, and encouragement to try something new.  There are seed catalogs, garden magazines, and handouts offered for free. Numerous door prizes and goody bags simply add to the fun.

The room is surrounded by tables full of seed packets which participants may choose from in turns - or "rounds". Knowledgeable Master Gardeners are available at each table to assist with your planting and growing questions. We ask participants to bring seeds, either saved or purchased, to swap with others.  We also receive donations of seeds from national seed companies and local nurseries as well as seeds saved from our Master Gardener project gardens. Everyone goes home with seeds.
