4-H Youth Development


Under the direction from Jim Hanson, Associate Dean and Associate Director regarding UME COVID-19, County Office Faculty and Staff will be teleworking until June 26, 2020. All University of Maryland Extension 4-H Programs have suspended in-person 4-H events, practices, club meetings, and programs through July 31st. 2020 4-H Summer Face to Face Camps have been cancelled.

Youth and families can take this time to start your record books or a new project! Here are some updates and information regarding programming - June 2020.

The Maryland 4-H Youth Development program is part of the nation's largest youth club and has over 50,000 members and 5,000 volunteers.

The Anne Arundel County 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator coordinates the county 4-H program and provides a supportive setting to help youth reach their full potential. Our 4-H clubs, designed for youth ages 8-18, are located throughout Anne Arundel County.

In 4-H, youth can learn life skills through various projects and activities:
