What is a Master Gardener?

What is a Master Gardener?

Master Gardeners are volunteer educators for the University of Maryland Extension.  All certified Maryland Master Gardeners receive training from UME faculty, then volunteer to share their knowledge and expertise in their communities.  Master Gardeners combine their love of plants, people, and the natural environment to help others create a healthier world.

Our Vision

Maryland Master Gardeners envisions a healthier world through environmental stewardship.

Our Mission

Maryland Master Gardeners support the mission of University of Maryland Extension by educating residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities.
