NEW! Virtual Art and Photography Contest!

4-H Horse Art Contest

Previously associated with the Horse Jamboree the primary objective of the Maryland State 4-H Horse Virtual Art and Photography Contest is to provide an opportunity for youth to demonstrate their artistic ability and showcase their equipe-related subject matter in a virtual setting.

Age Divisions (As of January 1, 2020)

  1. Junior: 8-10
  2. Intermediate: 11-13
  3. Senior: 14-18

Divisions and Classes

  1. Fine Arts: Entries must be original works of art. No cartoon or copyrighted characters, figures, logos, etc. may be used. No paint by numbers, scratch art kits, etc.
  2. Photography: Photographs must be equine related and taken in the past 12 months. Photos may be color or black and white.
  3. Visual Arts: Posters/Infographics must be equine related. Posters may be of any medium and may be oriented horizontally or vertically.

Registration

4-H members should contact their local 4-H county/city office to register. The office will need to know the member's age division (Junior, Intermediate, or Senior) and category (Fine Arts Visual Arts, Photography). The Registration Worksheet to collect local registration information has been emailed to 4-H faculty/staff  and must be turned in by June 1, 2020.

The exhibits will be posted on the UMD Horse Facebook page and on the UMD Horse Extension webpage!
